Litania, officially The Republic of Litania (d'Lis: Republica d'Litanie), is a Western Artemian parliamentary republic. *SENTENCE COVERING PROVINCES AND DIVISION* Litania is temperate and crossed with rivers feeding into the Iapetus from inland Artemia. The terrain is largely divided for agricultural use and deforested, but retains natural spaces consisting primarily of temperate forests and wetlands. Provença is the largest city and capital of Litania, with Recastèl and Marilanie as the other two largest population centers. The nation has a population of around 61,338,000, making it one of the most populous countries in Western Artemia.

  • ANCIENT TO RECENT HISTORY SUM-UP PARAGRAPH - THIS PROBABLY HAS TO BE COLLABORATIVE*

The government of modern Litania follows a bicameral parliamentary structure consisting of two houses, the lower House of the Assembly of the Commons of the Republic (commonly referred to as the Common Assembly) and the upper House of the Assembly Superiour of Litania (commonly referred to as the Assembly Superiour.) The Common Assembly consists of directly elected legislators called asembliers serving until the dissolution of Parliament. Members of the Common Assembly run from the country's many electoral counties. The Assembly Superiour consists of a smaller body of legislators elected by electoral college, also known as asembliers or as asembliers republicain. Each province of the republic submits twelve asembliers republicain to the Assembly Superiour. Since 2016, the Partida Libertal has held power under Prime Minister Peyre d'Auctore.
