Organization

The Fusilier Marins are the primary naval infantry force of the Marine Nationale. They provide fleet security, amphibious landing, and other land force roles for the Marine Nationale and act as the de facto standing army of Chezzetcook.

The Fusilier Marins are organized under the Interarms Regiment, a combined arms force that allows for maximum flexibility. Each such regiment consists of a primary arm, and attached supporting arms. Regiments are subordinate to administrative corps. Specific arms units are supplied by administrative and training divisions.

Smaller Unit Outline

Infantry Platoon

The infantry platoon consists of three rifle sections and a platoon headquarters. The platoon headquarters is the command team of four personnel, and two platoon weapon's teams each of three personnel. The command team is led by the platoon commander, ranked Major, with an assistant platoon leader ranked Maître-principal. These senior NCOs, along with the section commanders, comprise a strong base of experience for the platoon to operate. Two enlisted personnel in the roles of radio telephone and drone operator round out the command team.

Platoon weapon's teams are three personnel, led by an NCO, typically one junior and one senior. The teams provide specialist capability in the machine gun, anti-tank rocket, or 60mm infantry mortar, with one member of each team typically specialising in a weapon but able to do all three. The platoon commander determines the weapons to be employed.

The rifle section consists of ten personnel, divided into three teams of three people, with the section leader separate. The teams are named Scout, Gun, and Assault, but there is some variation and overlap as the names are more historical. Unless otherwise noted all members of the section are issued with a Modele 48 rifle and holographic optic. The section is commanded by a senior NCO ranked Premier-maître who is enabled to move between the teams as required to accomplish the mission.

The Gun team is led by the assistant section leader, an NCO ranked Maître, with two enlisted soldiers. One soldier operates the section's belt fed Modele 57 general purpose machine gun, while one soldier acts as an assistant gunner. The gunner does not carry a rifle when issued the Modele 57. One of the two magnified optics issued to the section is typically carried by the Gun team leader for accurate spotting for the machine gun. For mechanized and armoured units the gun team operates the section infantry fighting vehicle rather than a dismounted machine gun. In these units the team leader commands the vehicle with the assistant gunner slot being the driver. All vehicle crew are issued rifles.

The Scout team is led by a junior NCO ranked Premier-Matelot. One member of the scout team, typically the one with the highest marksmanship qualification, is authorized to carry one of the section's magnified optic in place of the holographic optic on their Modele 48 rifle. All three soldiers carry Modele 48 rifles, with one soldier also carrying the team's Modele 89 grenade launcher. Extra ammunition for the grenade launcher is carried by the other two members of the team.

The Assault team is three soldiers led by a junior NCO ranked Premier-Matelot as well. All three soldiers are issued with Modele 48 rifles. In addition, one member of the team carries a Modele 62 grenade launcher. Typically four disposable anti tank rockets are issued to the Assault team as well.
