Anterra Freedom and Human Rights Index
The Anterra Freedom and Human Rights Index is a freedom index produced by the NGO Global Freedom Corp to publish and assess the state of freedoms, human rights and political protections, according to their own definition, in the world. It ranks countries on economic rights, human rights, civil liberties, political freedoms and others.
Use
The AFHRI ranks nations on a scale of 100, for each of the 25 categories, they can be ranked as follows
- 3 = this right is protected/there are no reported violations of this right
- 2 = this right is limited/there are some violations of this right
- 1 = this right is not protected/there are frequent violations of this right
All the rankings in each category are then added together, 25 is subtracted from the total, which is then doubled, to produce a percentage of 100.
A ranking between 0-29 indicates a severely repressive country, 30-59 indicates an unfree country, 60-79 indicates a partly free country, and 80-100 indicates a free country,
